TAX WRITE-OFFS

You are entitled to tax write-offs, depending on your tax-filing status. To expedite action on your claims, you will need to provide evidence of such transactions as will enable you to enjoy the tax write-offs. Your claims must be supported with documents.

If available, bring documents concerning the following circumstances:

1. If you claimed gifts to charity;

2. If you claimed medical and dental expenses;

3. If you claimed a deduction for taxes you paid;

4. Receipts of any job-related lodging expenses claimed;

5. A copy of any receipts for any expenses claimed greater than $75.00;

6. If you claimed a deduction for Interest you paid, school, interest from mortgage statements, etc.;

7. Verification of total mileage on the vehicle (This can be from two repair receipts, inspection);

8. A copy of your employer's reimbursement policy or a letter from the employer explaining what expenses are reimbursed. The letter should also indicate whether it is an "accountable" or "non-accountable" reimbursement plan;

9. Copies of logs, diaries, or other records showing all expenses incurred, job locations, and dates you were at each location. For meals and entertainment, these records should detail the business purpose and business relationships.
